Laborers c. 1900
When we were out hunting for photos to restore, we came across this gem. We were both drawn to all of the different men and children in the photo. Once we scanned it we found details that were barely visible to the eye, but with a magic touch they come to life and pop in colour. I love the little boy rubbing his eye, and the hunched over positions of many of the men. The position of their hands casually draped over their knees, some with cap in hand. It seems like this photo opportunity gave them all a moment to rest from whatever task they were doing at the time. We don’t know where this was taken or the year, but we are guessing no later than 1940’s. If anyone has an idea of the time, we’re open to hearing your suggestions and guesses. This photo was one of a few antique and vintage photographs we picked up at the @barnfull_o_goodies. It’s such a cool shop!
