Delicate

The "Delicate" series originates from a simple desire to photograph beautiful things. Antique lace, with its refined and intricate nature, is the embodiment of this beauty. However, I wanted to move beyond the familiar representation of lace. Instead of capturing the object as a whole, I chose to create abstract compositions that invite the viewer's mind to wander and to wonder. By focusing on the interplay of light, shadow, and texture, the familiar patterns dissolve into new landscapes of form and thread. This series explores the profound duality of the material. It is a meditation on a fragility that, when cared for, can stand the test of time. "Delicate" is not just a description of the lace itself, but of the enduring strength found within beautiful, intricate things.
