Exodus 24:10 NIV

Exodus chapter 24 focuses on The Covenant of the people of Israel with God being confirmed. Moses builds an altar in honor of this covenant with 12 pillars representing the 12 tribes of Israel. After Moses puts blood on the altar and puts the same blood on his people, Moses proclaims, “This is the blood of the covenant that the Lord has made with you in accordance with all these words.” Moses and Aaron, Nadab and Abihu, and the seventy elders of Israel went up & saw God walking and under his feet was something like a pavement made of lapis lazuli, as bright blue as the sky. But God did not raise his hand against these leaders of the Israelites; they saw God, and they ate and drank.
This chapter tells me, that God willing to be closer to us if we use our freewill to support & establish a Covenant with him.
We still build altars but not for God. We have fallen out of a Covenant with Him. I imagine God walking on that beautiful blue sky above these built altars, waiting to commune with us, waiting for us to reach out to him & if we could only transform our progress & focus on Him, our relationship with God & His Kingdom would be so rich & fulfilling. But for now it is just out of reach.

Proverbs 8:19 NIV
[19] My fruit is better than fine gold; what I yield surpasses choice silver.

We place so much importance on material wealth, money & stature that we forget that the Fruit of God is far more enriching to our spirits, far beyond money & wealth.

From deep inside the earth these shards pierce the skin of the ground & point towards the sky like ancient tombs pointing towards the stars.
2 Corinthians 4:16-18 NIV
[16] Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. [17] For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. [18] So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.

The Royal Ontario Museum is a fusion of older & modern architecture. The older being what is wasting away & the new is what is being renewed around it. Like our body & spirits; Our flesh may outwardly be wasting away, if we believe in Jesus, our spirits will be renewed day-by-day. Our suffering, like what slowly erodes old architecture provides us new life in Christ.

1 Peter 1:7 NIV
[7] These have come so that the proven genuineness of your faith—of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire—may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed.

Our faith & love for Jesus is far stronger than the worth of Gold which perishes even though refined by fire; This is another reminder that our love & faith in Jesus is far stronger & carries far more value than anything forged or created by us which will perish. Our relationship with him will not and will last an eternity.

2 Corinthians 12:9 NIV
[9] But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.

We value impenetrable strength & fortress; We build monuments that reflect these values. God finds value in weakness & imperfection. God's strength comes from our weaknesses so why don't we value & celebrate weakness?
